RFID tracking for Bidvest's laundry operation
Our specialist RFID work in the laundry industry: how we replaced manual textile counts with a system that reads linen automatically as it moves through the plant.
The problem
A large laundry operation handles huge volumes of linen and textiles every day. Counting them by hand is slow, easy to get wrong and makes it hard to know where items are or whether any have gone missing.
What we did
We designed an RFID system around how textiles move through the plant. Each item is fitted with a durable tag, and readers placed at key points record items in bulk as they pass, with no scanning one by one.
The readings feed into software so the team can see counts and movements without stopping work to count.
The result
Tracking and inventory processes became faster and more accurate, giving Bidvest a reliable view of its textile stock and freeing staff from manual counting.
